Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The melanocortin 3 receptor (MC3R) is a G-protein coupled receptor that plays a crucial role in regulating energy homeostasis, appetite, and metabolism. It is primarily expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in the hypothalamus, where it influences feeding behavior and energy expenditure. Genetic studies have identified variants in the MC3R gene that are associated with obesity and metabolic disorders, highlighting its significance in energy balance and weight regulation. Given the rising prevalence of obesity and related health issues globally, understanding the functional mechanisms of MC3R has become a focal point in metabolic research. Recombinant MC3R protein studies allow scientists to investigate the receptor's structure-function relationships, signaling pathways, and interactions with endogenous ligands such as α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone). Additionally, these studies pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic approaches targeting MC3R to combat obesity and metabolic dysfunctions. Overall, the exploration of MC3R through recombinant protein techniques aims to elucidate its biological roles and therapeutic potential, contributing to the broader understanding of metabolic regulation.
