  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The CX40 protein, known as connexin 40, is a member of the connexin family that forms gap junctions, facilitating intercellular communication in various tissues, particularly in the cardiovascular system. This protein plays a critical role in maintaining cardiac function by allowing the passage of ions and small molecules between adjacent cells, which is essential for synchronized contraction of heart muscle. Alterations in CX40 expression or function have been implicated in several cardiac disorders, including arrhythmias and hypertension. Recent studies have focused on characterizing the structure and functional properties of CX40, understanding its role in health and disease, and exploring potential therapeutic strategies to target connexin pathways. Recombinant CX40 proteins are being developed for use in experimental models to study their interactions with other cellular components, investigate disease mechanisms, and assess the impact of pharmacological agents. The ongoing research aims to elucidate the complex signaling networks involving CX40 and pave the way for innovative treatments for cardiovascular diseases.
