  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

NOD2 (nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-containing protein 2) is a crucial intracellular pattern recognition receptor that plays a significant role in the immune response by recognizing bacterial components, particularly muramyl dipeptide (MDP). Mutations in the NOD2 gene are associated with various inflammatory conditions, including Crohn’s disease, a form of inflammatory bowel disease. Research on recombinant NOD2 proteins aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying its function and regulatory pathways involved in innate immunity. The recombinant form facilitates the study of its interactions with signaling molecules and its role in inflammatory signaling cascades. Characterizing the structure and functionality of NOD2 through recombinant techniques allows scientists to explore how mutations may affect its activity, thus providing insights into the pathogenesis of related diseases. Moreover, understanding the NOD2 signaling pathway can lead to the development of therapeutic targets for managing chronic inflammatory conditions. Overall, recombinant NOD2 protein studies contribute to advancing our knowledge of innate immunity and its implications in health and disease.
