Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    tdc

  • 简介

TDC protein plays a key role in amino acid metabolism by catalyzing the decarboxylation of L-tyrosine to produce tyramine. TDC is specific and does not utilize other aromatic L-amino acids such as L-phenylalanine, L-tryptophan, and L-glutamate as substrates. tdc Protein, Levilactobacillus brevis (FLAG, His) is the recombinant tdc protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, N-Flag labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

TDC (Tryptophan Decarboxylase) is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of biologically active compounds, particularly in the metabolism of the amino acid tryptophan. Research on TDC proteins has gained momentum due to their potential applications in various fields, including agriculture, medicine, and biotechnology. In plants, TDC is involved in the production of indole alkaloids, which possess important pharmaceutical properties, making its study relevant for developing new therapeutic agents. Understanding the structure, function, and regulation of TDC proteins can offer insights into enhancing metabolic pathways for the synthesis of valuable secondary metabolites. Additionally, the manipulation of TDC activity in crops could lead to increased resistance to pests and diseases, thus improving yield and quality. Recent advancements in molecular biology techniques, including gene editing and recombinant protein expression, have facilitated in-depth investigations into TDC proteins. This has opened new avenues for engineering plants with tailored metabolic profiles that can address food security and health challenges. Moreover, as the demand for sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices rises, TDC's role in natural product biosynthesis highlights its significance in the development of biopesticides and biofertilizers. Consequently, ongoing research endeavors focus on characterizing TDC enzymes from various plant species and exploring their functional applications, paving the way for innovative solutions in crop improvement and therapeutic development.
