Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Corneodesmosin/CDSN

  • 简介

PSORS1C1/CDSN, a keratin protein present in cornified desmosomes, is involved in the repair of human epidermis and other keratinized squamous epithelium. The expression of PSORS1C1/CDSN is associated with immune skin diseases such as psoriasis, and Cdsn deficiency causes skin barrier damage. Corneodesmosin/CDSN Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Corneodesmosin/CDSN protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Corneodesmosin (CDSN) is a significant protein in the regulation of skin permeability and integrity, particularly within the corneocyte layer of the stratum corneum. It plays a critical role in cell-cell adhesion among corneocytes, which are essential for maintaining the skin's barrier function. The disruption of CDSN can lead to various skin disorders, including atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. CDSN is primarily produced by keratinocytes, and its expression is tightly regulated during skin differentiation and maturation. Recent advancements in recombinant protein technology have enabled researchers to produce functional CDSN, facilitating in-depth studies of its structure-function relationships and biochemical properties. Recombinant CDSN can be instrumental for elucidating its role in skin health and disease, and for exploring potential therapeutic applications in dermatological treatments. Understanding the mechanistic pathways through which CDSN operates could provide insights into novel strategies for enhancing skin barrier repair and treating related disorders. As research continues, the focus on CDSN's involvement in intercellular adhesion and the skin's immune response is likely to yield significant findings, contributing to a deeper comprehension of skin biology and pathology.
