Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Aconitase 1/ACO1

  • 简介

The ACO1 protein is a bifunctional iron sensor that dynamically adapts to cellular iron levels. Under conditions of iron deficiency, it is converted to mRNA binding and regulates iron-related gene expression. Aconitase 1/ACO1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived Aconitase 1/ACO1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Aconitase 1 (ACO1) is an essential enzyme in the citric acid cycle, playing a critical role in cellular energy production by catalyzing the reversible conversion of citrate to isocitrate. Beyond its metabolic function, ACO1 has been implicated in various cellular processes, such as iron homeostasis and oxidative stress response. Research has indicated that ACO1 can function as a signaling molecule, influencing gene expression and cellular growth under conditions of stress, particularly in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Given its multifaceted roles, the recombinant production of ACO1 has garnered interest for therapeutic and diagnostic applications. By utilizing recombinant DNA technology, scientists can produce ACO1 in a controlled manner, which enables the study of its structure-function relationships, enzymatic activity, and interaction with other cellular components. Additionally, understanding the molecular mechanisms by which ACO1 operates could lead to novel insights into its regulation and the potential development of targeted therapies for diseases linked to its dysregulation. Thus, the study of recombinant ACO1 not only furthers our comprehension of fundamental metabolic pathways but also opens avenues for biotechnological advancements in health and disease management.
