简介
PFKFB1 protein orchestrates the synthesis and degradation of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate, regulating cellular energy metabolism. Serving as a key enzyme, PFKFB1 modulates fructose 2,6-bisphosphate levels, impacting glycolysis and gluconeogenesis. Its dual role in both synthesis and breakdown is crucial for maintaining cellular energy homeostasis, ensuring adaptability to changing energy demands and environmental conditions. PFKFB1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived PFKFB1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PFKFB1, a key regulatory enzyme in glycolysis, catalyzes the production of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate from fructose-6-phosphate and ATP. This metabolite serves as a potent activator of phosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1), the principal regulatory step in the glycolytic pathway, thereby playing a crucial role in cellular energy metabolism. Dysregulation of PFKFB1 has been implicated in various pathological conditions, including cancer, where altered glycolytic flux supports rapid cell proliferation and survival under hypoxic conditions. Research on recombinant PFKFB1 protein is pivotal for elucidating its biochemical properties, regulatory mechanisms, and interaction with other metabolic enzymes. Furthermore, generating this recombinant protein enables high-throughput screening of small molecules that may modulate its activity, providing insights into potential therapeutic strategies for diseases characterized by metabolic dysregulation. The study of PFKFB1 not only broadens our understanding of the glycolytic process but also opens avenues for novel interventions in metabolic disorders and cancer therapy.
