  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

USH1C, a gene associated with Usher syndrome type 1C, encodes the protein harmonin, which plays a crucial role in the development and function of auditory and vestibular systems as well as photoreceptor cells in the retina. Mutations in USH1C are linked to the combined hearing loss and vision impairment characteristic of this syndrome. Research into USH1C recombinant proteins is essential for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying these sensory deficits, facilitating the exploration of therapeutic avenues. The study of harmonin's structure and function can reveal its interactions with other proteins involved in cell signaling and sensory transduction pathways. Additionally, the expression and purification of USH1C recombinant proteins enable the development of assays for drug screening, potential gene therapy strategies, and the investigation of its roles in cellular processes, such as cell adhesion and cytoskeletal organization. As advancements in biotechnology continue, the characterization of USH1C and its protein products holds promise for targeted interventions that could mitigate the effects of Usher syndrome, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to a greater understanding of related auditory and visual disorders. Furthermore, these studies can pave the way for novel insights into the genetic and environmental factors that influence sensory cell function and contribute to the overall health of hearing and vision.
