简介
Plasma kallikrein (KLKB1) serves as an enzyme, cleaving Lys-Arg and Arg-Ser bonds to release bradykinin from HMW kininogen. It plays a crucial role in the reciprocal activation of factor XII, especially upon binding to a negatively charged surface. Besides its role in the kinin system, KLKB1 may contribute to the renin-angiotensin system by converting prorenin into renin. Plasma kallikrein/KLKB1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His, solution) is the recombinant human-derived Plasma kallikrein/KLKB1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Plasma kallikrein, also known as KLKB1, is a serine protease involved in the kallikrein-kinin system, which plays a critical role in various physiological processes, including blood pressure regulation, inflammation, and pain sensation. Abnormalities in KLKB1 function are associated with several pathological conditions, such as hereditary angioedema and cardiovascular diseases. The recombinant form of plasma kallikrein has emerged as a crucial tool for both basic research and therapeutic applications. Studies focusing on KLKB1 are driven by the need to understand its structure, function, and regulatory mechanisms better, as well as to explore its potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target. Advances in genetic engineering and protein expression systems have enabled the production of recombinant KLKB1, facilitating detailed investigations into its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and interaction with inhibitors. Furthermore, this research has implications for developing novel drugs that modulate the kallikrein-kinin system for treating related disorders. Overall, the study of recombinant plasma kallikrein/KLKB1 is pivotal for elucidating its role in health and disease, advancing biomedical research, and fostering innovative therapeutic strategies.
