简介
The BACE2 protein is critically involved in the proteolytic processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP), producing beta-cleaved soluble APP and a cell-associated C-terminal fragment. It cleaves APP at residues 690-691 and 671-672. BACE2 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived BACE2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
BACE2 (Beta-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 2) is an important enzyme that has garnered significant attention in the context of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer’s disease. BACE2 belongs to the family of aspartyl proteases and is known for its role in cleaving amyloid precursor protein (APP), a critical player in the formation of amyloid-beta plaques associated with Alzheimer’s. Interestingly, BACE2 is structurally similar to BACE1, the primary enzyme responsible for APP cleavage and amyloid plaque formation. While BACE1 has been extensively studied for its potential as a therapeutic target, BACE2 is less well understood, and its exact role in amyloidogenesis and neuroprotection remains a subject of investigation. Recent studies have suggested that BACE2 may play a protective role by modulating the levels of amyloid-beta and influencing neuroinflammatory processes, thereby presenting an exciting opportunity for the development of novel therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer's disease. The recombinant production of BACE2 protein is essential for elucidating its functional properties, studying its enzymatic activity, and exploring its potential as a drug target. Additionally, understanding the biochemical pathways involving BACE2 could lead to breakthroughs in the comprehension of Alzheimer's disease mechanisms and foster the design of selective inhibitors that could mitigate the pathogenesis associated with BACE1, while potentially enhancing the protective effects of BACE2. As such, the research into BACE2 recombinant protein is pivotal for advancing therapeutic interventions and improving the prognosis for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
