简介
The BACE1 protein is an important member of the aspartic protease family and is critical in Alzheimer's disease pathology.Alternative splicing generates multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed to produce the mature protease.BACE1 Protein, Human (HEK293) is the recombinant human-derived BACE1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with tag free.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
BACE1 (Beta-site APP Cleaving Enzyme 1) is a critical enzyme involved in the amyloidogenic pathway of Alzheimer's disease, where it plays a key role in the proteolytic processing of amyloid precursor protein (APP). This process leads to the generation of amyloid-beta peptides, which aggregate to form plaques—one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer's pathology. Given its significant role in disease progression, BACE1 has emerged as a prime target for therapeutic strategies aimed at mitigating Alzheimer's symptoms or slowing disease progression. Furthermore, the study of BACE1 is essential for understanding synaptic function and neurodegeneration. Research into BACE1 often involves the production and characterization of recombinant BACE1 proteins, which can be used for various applications, including drug screening, elucidating the substrate specificity, and understanding the molecular mechanisms of enzyme activity. Advances in recombinant protein technology have facilitated the efficient production of BACE1 in different expression systems, allowing for detailed studies of its structure and function. This research is pivotal not only for developing new Alzheimer’s treatments but also for advancing our comprehension of related neurodegenerative disorders, highlighting BACE1's potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in the field of neuroscience.
