简介
IL-1 alpha is a ubiquitous and pivotal pro-inflammatory cytokine. IL-1 alpha is produced by monocytes and macrophages as a proprotein, which is proteolytically processed and released in response to cell injury, and thus induces apoptosis. IL-1 alpha plays an important role in inflammation and bridges the innate and adaptive immune systems. IL-1 alpha mediates the activation of NF-kappa-B and the three MAPK pathways p38, p42/p44 and JNK pathways[1][4]. IL-1 alpha protein, Rat is a recombinant protein consisting of 156 amino acids (S115-S270) and is produced by E. coli.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Interleukin-1 alpha (IL-1α) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that plays a crucial role in the regulation of immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis. It is primarily produced by activated macrophages, but can also be expressed by various cell types, including endothelial cells and fibroblasts. IL-1α is involved in numerous physiological and pathological processes, including infection, tissue repair, and autoimmune diseases. Its activity is facilitated through binding to the IL-1 receptor, leading to the activation of signaling pathways that promote the expression of other pro-inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules. Given its central role in mediating inflammatory responses, IL-1α has become a significant target for therapeutic intervention in diseases characterized by chronic inflammation, such as rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and atherosclerosis. Recombinant IL-1α proteins are essential for studying its biological functions, understanding downstream signaling pathways, and developing IL-1α antagonists or inhibitors for potential clinical applications. Research involving recombinant IL-1α contributes to a deeper understanding of its intricate role in inflammation and immunity, and offers insights into novel therapeutic strategies aimed at modulating immune responses and treating inflammatory disorders.
