简介
The NEK6 protein is a key kinase essential for driving mitotic cell cycle progression, ensuring chromosome segregation, robust spindle formation, and cytokinesis. It phosphorylates ATF4, CIR1, PTN, RAD26L, RBBP6, RPS7, RPS6KB1, TRIP4, STAT3 and histone H1/H3, affecting a variety of cellular processes. NEK6 Protein, Human (sf9, GST) is the recombinant human-derived NEK6 protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-GST labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
NEK6 (NIMA-related kinase 6) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation, particularly in mitosis. It is part of the never in mitosis gene A (NIMA) family, which comprises kinases that regulate various cellular processes, including cell division and response to DNA damage. Dysregulation of NEK6 has been implicated in several diseases, especially cancer, where its overexpression can lead to uncontrolled cell proliferation and tumorigenesis. As a newly recognized player in cancer biology, NEK6 has garnered significant interest as a potential therapeutic target. Studies have shown that NEK6 is involved in key processes such as spindle assembly and chromosome segregation, making it vital for maintaining genomic stability. Recombinant NEK6 protein has been developed for structural and functional studies, enabling researchers to elucidate its molecular mechanisms and interactions with other cellular partners. Such investigations are essential in understanding how NEK6 contributes to disease progression and could pave the way for the development of novel cancer therapies that specifically inhibit its activity. The exploration of NEK6 has thus become central to improving our understanding of cancer biology and developing targeted therapeutic strategies that could enhance the efficacy of existing treatments.
