  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

AMELX, or Amelogenin X, is a gene that encodes a protein critical for the development and mineralization of dental enamel. Mutations in the AMELX gene can lead to enamel hypoplasia, a condition characterized by inadequate enamel formation, resulting in increased susceptibility to dental caries and sensitivity. Research on AMELX recombinant proteins has gained significant attention due to their potential applications in dental tissue engineering and regenerative dentistry. Scientists have been investigating the role of AMELX in enamel matrix production and its interaction with other enamel-related proteins, such as ameloblastin and enamelin. Through recombinant DNA technology, researchers can produce AMELX proteins in vitro, allowing for detailed studies of its structure-function relationships and potential therapeutic applications. By better understanding the mechanisms of enamel formation and the specific roles of AMELX, this line of research aims to develop innovative strategies for the treatment of enamel defects and the advancement of dental restoration techniques. Additionally, AMELX recombinant proteins may hold promise for enhancing the properties of biomaterials used in dental applications, thereby improving clinical outcomes for patients with enamel-related conditions.
