  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BD-4, a member of the human beta-defensin family, is a cationic antimicrobial peptide known for its role in innate immunity and antimicrobial defense. Research into BD-4 has surged due to its potential therapeutic implications, particularly in combatting antibiotic-resistant pathogens and modulating immune responses. This peptide exhibits broad-spectrum activity against various bacteria, fungi, and viruses, making it a valuable candidate in the field of infectious diseases. Additionally, BD-4 has been implicated in the regulation of inflammation and immune cell recruitment, contributing to the understanding of its dual role in host defense and immune modulation. The investigation of BD-4 as a recombinant protein offers promising avenues for developing novel antimicrobial therapies, as well as enhancing our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms underlying its action. Recent studies have focused on optimizing production methods for BD-4, characterizing its biochemical properties, and evaluating its efficacy in different biomedical applications. As the prevalence of multidrug-resistant infections continues to rise, BD-4 represents a compelling target for the development of next-generation antibiotics and immunotherapeutic strategies aimed at bolstering the body's natural defenses.
