Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    VSIG2

  • 简介

VSIG2 is also known as CTXL (cortical thymocyte like-protein). VSIG2 promotes malignant progression of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma through LAMtor2-mediated mTOR activation. VSIG2 can be used as a potential biomarker or therapeutic target for tumors. VSIG2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived VSIG2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

VSIG2 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 2) is a recently identified immunoglobulin superfamily member that plays a crucial role in immune regulation. Characterized by its unique structure, which includes a V-set domain, VSIG2 has been found to be expressed in various tissues, particularly in immune cells such as T cells and B cells. Research has revealed that VSIG2 functions as a coinhibitory receptor, modulating T cell activation and potentially influencing autoimmune diseases and cancer progression. Its expression is regulated by pro-inflammatory cytokines, indicating a significant role in immune responses. The interest in VSIG2 arises from its potential as a therapeutic target; understanding its mechanisms could lead to novel strategies for enhancing anti-tumor immunity or treating autoimmune disorders. Furthermore, its similarities to other known immune checkpoints, such as PD-1 and CTLA-4, suggests that it could play a pivotal role in the development of immune checkpoint inhibitors. Ongoing studies are focused on elucidating its signaling pathways, biological functions, and interactions with ligands to uncover how VSIG2 modulates immune responses in pathological conditions. Thus, VSIG2 stands at the forefront of immunological research, holding promise for future clinical applications in immunotherapy and the fine-tuning of immune interventions.
