Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ST6GALNAC2, a member of the ST6Gal family of glycosyltransferases, plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of glycan structures on glycoproteins and glycolipids. This enzyme specifically transfers sialic acid to N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residues, resulting in the formation of complex sialylated structures that are vital for various biological processes, including cell-cell interactions, signal transduction, and immune response modulation. Aberrant expression of ST6GALNAC2 has been implicated in several pathological conditions, including cancer, where alterations in glycosylation patterns can influence tumor progression and metastasis. Furthermore, understanding the functional properties of ST6GALNAC2 can provide insights into its potential as a therapeutic target, as well as its involvement in diseases characterized by altered glycosylation. Recent advancements in recombinant protein technologies have enabled the production and characterization of ST6GALNAC2, allowing researchers to investigate its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and regulatory mechanisms. These studies are pivotal for elucidating the role of sialylated glycans in health and disease, thereby laying the groundwork for future explorations of glycosyltransferases in clinical applications.
