  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GFRAL (Growth Factor Receptor Alike) is an essential component of the neuronal signaling pathways associated with energy homeostasis and appetite regulation. It has emerged as a significant research target due to its role as a receptor for the hormone GDF15 (Growth Differentiation Factor 15), which is implicated in weight loss and metabolic control. The study of recombinant GFRAL protein has garnered attention as scientists seek to understand its physiological functions and therapeutic potential. GDF15 is known to be upregulated in response to stress, inflammation, and other pathological conditions, and its interaction with GFRAL signals through the central nervous system to induce anorectic effects. By preparing and characterizing recombinant GFRAL, researchers aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying its action and explore its potential as a target for obesity and metabolic disorders. Current investigations focus on the structural biology of GFRAL, its signaling pathways, and how its modulation may lead to novel treatments for conditions related to dysregulated energy balance. Understanding the GFRAL-GDF15 pathway's relevance may also shed light on its role in cancer cachexia and age-related weight loss, further expanding its therapeutic implications. As studies continue to reveal the complexities of this signaling axis, the recombinant GFRAL protein is poised to be a valuable tool in obesity research and metabolic syndrome prevention, driving future innovations in clinical applications.
