Gene name
SCGB2A1
-
简介
The SCGB2A1 protein is a multifunctional binding entity that may interact with androgens, steroids, and the chemotherapy drug estramustine in prostate cancer treatment. Transcriptionally regulated by steroid hormones, suggesting involvement in hormone signaling pathways. SCGB2A1 Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant human-derived SCGB2A1 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SCGB2A1, also known as Secretoglobin Family 2A Member 1, is a protein that has garnered attention in biomedical research due to its potential roles in various physiological and pathological processes. Initially identified in the context of the respiratory system, SCGB2A1 is primarily expressed in club cells of the lungs, where it is thought to contribute to airway homeostasis and protection against oxidative stress. Recent studies have highlighted its involvement in lung development, immune response, and tissue repair mechanisms. Moreover, alterations in SCGB2A1 expression have been linked to several respiratory diseases, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), suggesting its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target. The recombinant production of SCGB2A1 allows for detailed investigation into its structure, function, and interactions at a molecular level, facilitating the exploration of its role in health and disease. Understanding the properties of SCGB2A1 could lead to novel insights into lung biology and the development of targeted strategies for respiratory conditions. As such, research on SCGB2A1 is not only crucial for elucidating basic biological processes but also holds promise for advancing therapeutic approaches in respiratory medicine.
