  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BRCA1 (Breast Cancer 1) is a critical gene located on chromosome 17q21, known for its role in maintaining genomic stability through the repair of DNA double-strand breaks via homologous recombination. Mutations in the BRCA1 gene are strongly associated with an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancers, making it a focal point of cancer research and genetic screening. The BRCA1 protein functions as a tumor suppressor and is involved in various cellular processes, such as cell cycle regulation, DNA damage repair, and transcriptional regulation. Its importance is underscored by the fact that pathogenic variants in BRCA1 are prevalent in familial breast and ovarian cancer cases. Research into the BRCA1 recombination protein has expanded in recent years to include studies on its structural biology, post-translational modifications, and interactions with other proteins within the DNA damage repair network. These studies aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying BRCA1 function and its role in cancer biology, paving the way for potential therapeutic interventions, including targeted therapies for BRCA1-deficient tumors. Understanding BRCA1's multifaceted role in genomic integrity not only enhances our knowledge of cancer mechanisms but also informs clinical approaches for prevention and treatment of BRCA-related cancers.
