简介
Glial-cell-line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a neurotrophic factor belongs to the GDNF family ligands (GFLs)., promotes survival of dopamine neurons. GDNF demonstrates a variety of neuroprotective roles for mammalian neurons[1]. GDNF Protein, Canine (HEK293, Fc) is produced in HEK293 cells with a N-Terminal Fc-tag. It consists of 103 amino acids (R109-I211).

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) is a crucial neurotrophic factor that plays a significant role in the survival, development, and maintenance of various neuronal populations in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Research into recombinant GDNF protein has gained momentum due to its therapeutic potential in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, where neuronal loss occurs. The production of recombinant GDNF involves utilizing biotechnology techniques to generate a purified protein that can mimic the naturally occurring factor. Studies have shown that GDNF can promote the survival of dopaminergic neurons and support neuroprotection, leading to increased interest in its application for neurorestorative therapies. Furthermore, the delivery methods for GDNF, including viral vectors and encapsulated formulations, are actively being explored to enhance its efficacy and stability in clinical settings. Understanding the molecular mechanisms by which GDNF exerts its effects on neuronal cells is critical for developing specific interventions. As a result, ongoing research continues to investigate the optimal conditions for GDNF expression, purification, and delivery, paving the way for potential innovations in treating neurodegenerative disorders and improving patient outcomes.
