Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    GDF-9

  • 简介

The GDF-9 protein is critical for ovarian folliculogenesis, promoting primordial follicle development and stimulating granulosa cell proliferation. It induces cell cycle transition, upregulates CCND1 and CCNE1 expression, and phosphorylates RB1. GDF-9 Protein, Human (GST) is the recombinant human-derived GDF-9 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-GST labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GDF-9 (Growth Differentiation Factor 9) is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, primarily involved in the regulation of ovarian follicle development and fertility in mammals. The protein plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. Research has shown that GDF-9 is essential for oocyte maturation and the development of ovarian somatic cells, making it a pivotal factor in female reproductive biology. Investigations into GDF-9 recombinant proteins have gained attention due to their potential therapeutic applications in treating infertility and improving assisted reproductive technologies. The expression and functional analysis of GDF-9 can provide insights into its mechanisms of action and its interactions with other growth factors and hormones in the reproductive system. Moreover, recombinant GDF-9 can be used in animal models to explore its role in folliculogenesis and oogenesis, thereby advancing our understanding of various reproductive disorders. Overall, the study of GDF-9 recombinant proteins not only contributes to fundamental reproductive biology but also holds promise for application in clinical settings, underscoring the importance of ongoing research in this area.
