Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    Spondin-2/SPON2

  • 简介

Spondin-2 protein is a matricellular protein with antigen binding, lipopolysaccharide binding and metal ion binding activity. Spondin-2 is essential for recruiting lymphocytes and initiating immune responses while being involved in cell adhesion, defense response to other organism; opsonization; and positive regulation of cytokine production. Spondin-2 is found to promote infiltration of M1-like macrophages and inhibits tumor metastasis in cancer research. Spondin-2/SPON2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Spondin-2/SPON2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Spondin-2 (SPON2) is a secreted glycoprotein belonging to the Spondin family, primarily involved in the regulation of cell adhesion and the modulation of interactions between extracellular matrices and cells. Research into SPON2 has gained momentum due to its potential implications in various biological processes and diseases, including tissue regeneration, inflammation, and neurological disorders. The protein is thought to play a crucial role in the central nervous system by influencing neuronal development and survival. Additionally, SPON2 has been implicated in the progression of certain cancers, possibly through its effects on cell migration and invasion. Given these diverse roles, generating recombinant SPON2 protein has become a focal point for researchers aiming to elucidate its functions, investigate its mechanisms of action, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target. By leveraging recombinant DNA technology, scientists can produce SPON2 in controlled environments, enabling detailed studies of its structure, interactions, and biological effects. Understanding the properties of SPON2 at the molecular level could offer insights into its utility in clinical applications and contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with its dysregulation.
