简介
The HNMT protein plays a pivotal role in histamine metabolism, facilitating its inactivation through N-methylation. This enzymatic activity is crucial for histamine degradation, emphasizing HNMT's essential function in modulating histamine levels. Its involvement in regulating the airway response to histamine underscores its significance in maintaining physiological homeostasis, potentially impacting immune and inflammatory responses. HNMT Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived HNMT protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Human neutral core histone methyltransferase (HNMT) is an essential enzyme that plays a critical role in the regulation of gene expression through histone modification, specifically by catalyzing the methylation of lysine residues on histones. This post-translational modification is pivotal for chromatin structure and function, influencing processes such as DNA repair, replication, and transcriptional regulation. Dysregulation of histone methyltransferases like HNMT has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, where aberrant methylation patterns can lead to the inappropriate activation or silencing of genes. Given the importance of HNMT in epigenetic regulation, researchers are increasingly focused on developing recombinant proteins for functional studies and therapeutic applications. Understanding HNMT's specific mechanisms of action and its potential as a drug target could pave the way for novel epigenetic therapies. The recombinant expression of HNMT allows for detailed biochemical characterization, providing insights into its substrate specificity, enzyme kinetics, and interaction with other cellular factors. Investigating HNMT not only enhances our understanding of chromatin remodeling but also contributes to the broader field of epigenetics, making it a vital area of study in both basic and applied biomedical research.
