简介
The AGO2/Argonaute-2 protein is critical for RNA-mediated silencing complex (RISC)-mediated gene silencing. In "minimal RISC," AGO2 binds to short guide RNAs, such as microRNAs (miRNAs) or short interfering RNAs (siRNAs), to guide RISC for silencing with complementary mRNAs.AGO2/Argonaute-2 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived AGO2/Argonaute-2 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-His, N-10*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AGO2, or Argonaute-2, is a key player in the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway and serves as a critical component of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). This protein is integral to the regulation of gene expression by binding to small RNA molecules, such as microRNAs (miRNAs) and small interfering RNAs (siRNAs), facilitating the targeting and degradation of complementary mRNA transcripts. Given its central role in post-transcriptional gene regulation, AGO2 has garnered significant interest in research, particularly in understanding its mechanisms of action and its implications in various biological processes, including development, differentiation, and disease pathology, notably in cancer. The ability to manipulate AGO2 and its associated pathways offers potential therapeutic avenues for gene therapy and the treatment of diseases caused by aberrant gene expression. Additionally, reconciling the structural biology of AGO2 with its functional dynamics enhances our comprehension of RNA-mediated gene silencing and its broader applications in biotechnology and medicine. Researchers employ various techniques, including recombinant protein expression, to study AGO2's functionalities, interactions, and structural properties, paving the way for novel insights into gene regulatory networks and therapeutic strategies targeting these pathways. Understanding AGO2 not only elucidates fundamental molecular mechanisms but also opens new avenues for innovative approaches in treating RNA-related diseases.
