  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Adenosine kinase (ADK) is a pivotal enzyme in purine metabolism, primarily responsible for the phosphorylation of adenosine to form adenosine monophosphate (AMP). This reaction plays a crucial role in regulating intracellular adenosine levels, influencing various physiological processes, including energy metabolism, signal transduction, and neuroprotective responses. Dysregulation of ADK is linked to several pathological conditions, including ischemia, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer, making it an attractive target for therapeutic interventions. The recombinant production of ADK allows for detailed biochemical characterization and structural studies, providing insights into its enzymatic mechanism and potential regulatory motifs. By utilizing recombinant DNA technology, researchers can produce ample quantities of active ADK for high-throughput screening of inhibitors and drug candidates. Furthermore, understanding the structural features of ADK can aid in the design of selective modulators that could help manipulate adenosine signaling pathways for therapeutic benefits. The study of recombinant ADK, therefore, holds significant promise for advancing our knowledge of adenosine biology and developing novel strategies for disease treatment, underscoring its importance in both basic and applied research contexts.
