简介
ALK-1, also known as ACVRL1, is a type I receptor for TGF-β superfamily with 2 ligands, BMP9 and BMP10. ALK-1 is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and plays a critical role in regulating developmental and pathological angiogenesis[1][2]. ACVRL1/ALK1 Protein, Mouse (HEK293, Fc) is produced in HEK293 cells with a C-Terminal Fc-tag. It consists of 97 amino acids (D23-P119).

Biological Activity
1. This product does not contain protein kinase domain. 2. Measured by its ability to inhibit BMP-9-induced alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC5 mouse chondrogenic cells. The ED50 for this effect is 20-80 ng/mL in the presence of 2 ng/mL of rhBMP-9. Measured by its ability to inhibit BMP-9-induced alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC5 mouse chondrogenic cells. The ED50 for this effect is 60.50 ng/mL in the presence of 2 ng/mL of rhBMP-9, corresponding to a specific activity is 1.653×104 units/mg.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ALK-1, or activin receptor-like kinase 1, is a type I receptor that plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including angiogenesis, endothelial cell function, and vascular homeostasis. Research has shown that ALK-1 is primarily involved in the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathway, influencing vascular development and repair. Dysregulation of ALK-1 has been implicated in several pathological conditions, including pulmonary arterial hypertension and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, highlighting its significance as a therapeutic target. The recombinant form of ALK-1 protein has garnered interest in scientific studies due to its potential applications in regenerative medicine and vascular biology. By generating ALK-1 recombinant protein, researchers aim to explore its biological functions, assess its interactions with other signaling molecules, and evaluate its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic agent. Such studies may facilitate a better understanding of vascular diseases and lead to novel treatment strategies.
