Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    ENTPD5

  • 简介

The ENTPD5 protein is located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum and plays a crucial role in glycoprotein processing by preferentially hydrolyzing nucleoside diphosphates, including GDP, IDP, and UDP. Its enzymatic activity ensures the clearance of UDP, an end-product feedback inhibitor of UDP-Glc:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase. ENTPD5 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived ENTPD5 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with C-His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

ENTPD5 (ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 5) is a member of the ecto-nucleotide triphosphate diphosphohydrolase family, primarily involved in the hydrolysis of extracellular nucleotide substrates, including ATP and ADP. The enzyme plays a crucial role in regulating nucleotide signaling pathways, which are vital for various physiological processes, including cell proliferation, immune responses, and apoptosis. Recent studies have highlighted the significance of ENTPD5 in cancer biology, where its altered expression can influence tumor growth and metastasis by modulating the availability of nucleotides in the tumor microenvironment. Additionally, ENTPD5 has been associated with the progression of several diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and inflammation. The functional characterization and understanding of ENTPD5's role at the molecular level have prompted researchers to explore its potential as a therapeutic target. This has led to the interest in producing recombinant ENTPD5 protein to facilitate detailed biochemical studies and structural analyses. Such research endeavors aim not only to elucidate the enzyme's catalytic mechanisms but also to assess its interactions with inhibitors or other proteins, paving the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Overall, the study of recombinant ENTPD5 protein is crucial for enhancing our understanding of its biological functions and potential implications in health and disease.
