简介
Activin A receptor, type I (ACVR1), also known as ALK-2, is a bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) type I receptor. ACVR1 is involved in a wide variety of biological processes, including bone, heart, cartilage, nervous, and reproductive system development and regulation[1]. Activin RIA Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is produced in HEK293 cells with a C-Terminal Fc-tag. It consists of 102 amino acids (D23-V124).
- Application
-
Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. When Recombinant Human BMP-6 is used at 0.25 μg/mL can bind Human Activin RIA. The ED50 for this effect is 4.46 μg/mL. Measured in a cell proliferation assay using HuH-7 cells. The ED50 for this effect is 2.516 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity is 3.97×105 units/mg.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Activin RIA, a member of the TGF-β superfamily of receptors, plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including early embryonic development, cell differentiation, and tissue homeostasis. Due to its significant involvement in regulating cellular responses to activin ligands, understanding Activin RIA's structure and function has garnered substantial interest in the fields of developmental biology and regenerative medicine. Research has shown that dysregulation of Activin RIA signaling can lead to various pathological conditions, including cancer and fibrotic diseases. To explore its potential therapeutic applications, recombinant Activin RIA proteins have been produced for both in vitro and in vivo studies. This has enabled researchers to delve into its receptor-ligand interactions, downstream signaling pathways, and functional effects on target cells. By utilizing advanced biotechnological tools, scientists aim to dissect the molecular mechanisms governing Activin RIA activity and how it may be leveraged for novel treatment strategies in diseases associated with altered activin signaling. As a result, the study of recombinant Activin RIA is pivotal not only for basic biological research but also for developing innovative approaches in clinical settings.
