  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KRT18, or Keratin 18, is a type I intermediate filament protein predominantly expressed in simple epithelial tissues, playing a crucial role in maintaining cell structure and integrity. Its significance extends beyond structural functions; KRT18 acts as a biomarker for various pathological conditions, including cancer, liver diseases, and neurodegenerative disorders. Researchers have focused on recombinant KRT18 proteins to investigate their properties and therapeutic potential. These studies are critical, as altered expression and organization of KRT18 are often associated with tumor progression and metastasis. Moreover, KRT18 can be released into the bloodstream during cellular damage, making it a potential diagnostic tool for early detection of diseases. The production of recombinant KRT18 allows for the study of its biological functions, interactions with other cellular components, and its role in disease mechanisms. Advances in protein expression technologies, such as bacterial and mammalian expression systems, have facilitated the generation of high-purity KRT18 suitable for functional assays. Future research is anticipated to explore the therapeutic applications of KRT18 in regenerative medicine and targeted therapies, potentially leading to novel strategies for disease management and improved patient outcomes. Understanding the multifunctional role of KRT18 within cellular pathways continues to provide insights into epithelial biology and its implications in health and disease.
