Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PMP2, or Peripheral Myelin Protein 2, is a small, lipid-binding protein predominantly expressed in the peripheral nervous system, where it plays a crucial role in myelination and maintaining the integrity of the myelin sheath around nerve fibers. Research into PMP2 has gained traction due to its significant implications in neurobiology and peripheral neuropathies. Understanding the structure and function of PMP2 can facilitate insights into the mechanisms of myelin-related disorders, such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which is characterized by demyelination and progressive muscle weakness. Additionally, PMP2 has been implicated in various cellular processes, including cell signaling and lipid metabolism, making it a target for therapeutic interventions. The recombinant production of PMP2 has become a pivotal aspect of this research, allowing for the investigation of its biochemical properties, interactions with other proteins, and potential effects on neuronal health. By employing techniques such as recombinant DNA technology and protein purification, researchers aim to elucidate the functional roles of PMP2 in myelination and explore its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in myelin-related diseases. The ongoing studies on PMP2 and its recombinant forms could lead to novel strategies for diagnosing and treating peripheral nerve disorders, contributing significantly to the fields of neurobiology and regenerative medicine.
