  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GDF-11 (Growth Differentiation Factor 11) and BMP-11 (Bone Morphogenetic Protein 11) are members of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) superfamily, crucially involved in various biological processes including embryonic development, tissue homeostasis, and repair. Initially identified for their roles in muscle and skeletal development, these proteins have garnered significant attention due to their potential implications in regenerative medicine and aging. Studies suggest that GDF-11 may play a role in reversing age-related muscle degeneration and improving stem cell function, leading to investigations into its therapeutic applications. Notably, the biosynthesis and activity of GDF-11/BMP-11 involve complex post-translational modifications, making the generation of recombinant forms challenging yet essential for in-depth functional studies. Researchers aim to produce recombinant GDF-11/BMP-11 proteins for use in cellular assays, animal models, and potential clinical applications, exploring their effects on stem cell behavior, tissue regeneration, and the mechanisms underlying aging. Understanding the biological functions of GDF-11/BMP-11 can offer insights into novel treatments for degenerative diseases, thus highlighting the importance of ongoing research in this domain.
