简介
The SLC30A3 protein is a possible proton-coupled zinc antiporter that mediates cellular zinc homeostasis in the brain. It promotes zinc import into synaptic vesicles and regulates intracellular zinc levels, which are critical for neuronal processes. SLC30A3 Protein, Human (sf9, His, MBP, FLAG) is the recombinant human-derived SLC30A3 protein, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with N-MBP, C-Flag, N-8*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC30A3, a member of the solute carrier family, encodes a zinc transporter that plays a pivotal role in the cellular regulation of zinc homeostasis. Dysregulation of zinc transport is implicated in various physiological and pathological processes, including neurodegenerative diseases, metabolic disorders, and cancer. While much attention has been given to other members of the SLC30 family, SLC30A3 has not been as extensively studied, highlighting a crucial gap in our understanding of zinc biology. Recent research indicates that SLC30A3 is predominantly expressed in the brain and testis, suggesting a specialized function in these tissues. Moreover, its downregulation has been associated with conditions such as impaired neurogenesis and fertility issues. Consequently, there is increasing interest in the recombinant production of SLC30A3 to investigate its structure, function, and interactions at the molecular level. By producing SLC30A3 as a recombinant protein, researchers aim to elucidate its role as a zinc transporter, assess its impact on zinc-dependent signaling pathways, and explore its potential as a therapeutic target for diseases linked to zinc deficiency or dysregulation. Understanding the biochemical properties and interactions of SLC30A3 through recombinant technology may pave the way for novel strategies in treating conditions related to zinc imbalance, ultimately contributing to the field of cellular biochemistry and therapeutic development.
