简介
CHI3L2, a lectin, exhibits high affinity for chitooligosaccharides and diverse glycans, except heparin. Importantly, CHI3L2 lacks chitinase activity, setting it apart from enzymes involved in chitin hydrolysis. CHI3L2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived CHI3L2 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CHI3L2, also known as Chitinase 3-like 2, is a member of the chitinase family of proteins, which are characterized by their ability to hydrolyze chitin, a polysaccharide found in the exoskeleton of arthropods and the cell walls of fungi. Unlike traditional chitinases, CHI3L2 does not exhibit significant chitinase activity but plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including inflammation, tissue remodeling, and immune response. Its expression is notably upregulated in various pathological conditions such as asthma, cancer, and fibrosis, suggesting its potential as a biomarker for disease progression and severity. Research has increasingly focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms governing CHI3L2's function and its interactions with other cellular pathways. Moreover, the study of CHI3L2 is pertinent in the context of its association with the modulation of the immune system and its role in chronic diseases. Recombinant CHI3L2 protein is often produced for experimental applications to investigate its biological functions, therapeutic potential, and role in disease mechanisms. This growing body of research underscores the importance of CHI3L2 in both health and disease, aiming to harness its potential for diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
