简介
TSPAN8 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is complexed with integrins and belongs to the four-span protein family. It has four hydrophobic domains. TSPAN8 mediates extracellular signal transduction processes and regulates cell development, activation, growth, and movement. In addition, TSPAN8 is expressed in different cancers and has potential roles in cancer prognosis and targeted therapy. TSPAN8 Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant human-derived TSPAN8 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-mFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
TSPAN8, a member of the tetraspanin family, has garnered significant attention in cancer research due to its emerging role in various tumorigenic processes. This integral membrane protein is implicated in cell adhesion, migration, and proliferation, which are critical aspects of cancer development and metastasis. Studies have shown that TSPAN8 is overexpressed in several types of cancer, including colorectal and pancreatic cancers, suggesting its potential as a biomarker for tumor progression. Additionally, TSPAN8 interacts with a range of cellular partners, including integrins and growth factor receptors, which further implicates its involvement in enhancing tumor cell invasiveness and modulating signaling pathways that promote cancer survival. Given these associations, the recombinant expression of TSPAN8 protein has become a focal point for understanding its functional mechanisms and potential therapeutic implications. Scientists aim to elucidate how TSPAN8 contributes to cancer biology through structural studies and functional assays. This research not only provides insights into the molecular underpinnings of tumor progression but also paves the way for the development of targeted therapies that could disrupt the functions of TSPAN8, thereby potentially improving patient outcomes. Understanding TSPAN8's role in cancer could also lead to novel diagnostic tools for early detection. The ongoing investigations into TSPAN8's structure, function, and interactions underscore its significance in cancer research, making it a promising target for future therapeutic interventions.
