  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

SLITRK1 (SLIT and NTRK-like protein 1) is a protein that has garnered significant attention in neuroscience and developmental biology due to its critical role in neural development and synaptic function. Initially identified as a gene associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, SLITRK1 is believed to influence neuronal connectivity and plasticity. Studies have shown that this protein is involved in guiding axon growth and facilitating synapse formation, making it essential for proper brain function. Moreover, mutations and deletions in the SLITRK1 gene have been linked to various cognitive and behavioral impairments, emphasizing its importance in the development of neurodevelopmental disorders. The recombinant expression of SLITRK1 in model systems allows researchers to investigate its biochemical properties, cellular interactions, and mechanistic pathways in detail. Characterizing SLITRK1 as a recombinant protein provides insights into its function, potential therapeutic targets, and implications for understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of disorders associated with its dysregulation. Researchers aim to elucidate the mechanistic roles of SLITRK1 in neuronal circuits, which may offer avenues for developing targeted therapies for conditions related to SLITRK1 mutations. Thus, the study of SLITRK1 recombinant protein serves as a crucial bridge in connecting molecular genetics to functional neuroscience, paving the way for improved interventions in neurodevelopmental disorders.
