简介
Galectin-1/LGALS1 is a lectin that binds β-galactoside and complex carbohydrates and regulates apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation. It inhibits CD45 phosphatase activity, blocks Lyn kinase dephosphorylation, and induces T cell apoptosis. Galectin-1/LGALS1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived Galectin-1/LGALS1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with C-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Galectin-1, also known as LGALS1, is a member of the galectin family of proteins and plays a crucial role in various biological processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and immune response modulation. It is characterized by its ability to bind β-galactosides and is involved in the regulation of cellular functions such as apoptosis, cell adhesion, and migration. Research has illuminated its implications in pathological conditions, including cancer, where Galectin-1 can promote tumor progression and metastasis by modulating the immune response and facilitating angiogenesis. Elevated levels of Galectin-1 have been associated with poor prognosis in several cancer types, making it a potential biomarker and therapeutic target. The recombinant production of Galectin-1 allows for detailed structural and functional studies, providing insights into its mechanisms of action and potential applications in cancer therapy and immunomodulation. Characterizing the properties of recombinant Galectin-1 can enhance our understanding of its role in tumor microenvironments and its interactions with immune cells, paving the way for innovative strategies in cancer treatment and the design of targeted therapies. Ongoing research continues to explore Galectin-1's multifaceted roles, making it a significant focus within the fields of cancer biology and immunology.
