Langerin/CD207

简介
Langerin, also known as CD207, is a calcium-dependent lectin with mannose-binding specificity. Notably, it induces the formation of Birbeck granules (BG) and acts as an effective regulator of membrane stacking and zipping. Langerin/CD207 Protein, Rhesus Macaque (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant Rhesus Macaque-derived Langerin/CD207 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Langerin, also known as CD207, is a C-type lectin receptor predominantly expressed on Langerhans cells, which are specialized dendritic cells found in the skin and mucosal tissues. It plays a crucial role in the immune response by mediating the uptake of antigens and facilitating their presentation to T cells, thus linking innate and adaptive immunity. The study of Langerin/CD207 is significant as it is involved in various immunological processes, including skin immunity, pathogen recognition, and the modulation of allergic reactions. Researchers have shown that Langerin can bind to specific carbohydrates, allowing for the recognition of a wide range of pathogens, including viruses and fungi, which is essential for initiating effective immune responses. Moreover, the exploration of Langerin has potential therapeutic implications, such as the development of vaccines and immunotherapies, given its role in antigen uptake and processing. Recombinant Langerin/CD207 proteins have been produced for various studies to elucidate its structure-function relationships, investigate its binding mechanisms, and assess its potential in drug delivery systems. Understanding Langerin’s biology not only enhances our comprehension of skin immune responses but also offers insights into its role in diseases, including viral infections, autoimmune disorders, and allergies, which makes it a valuable target for future therapeutic developments.
