简介
CD161 Protein plays a crucial role in inhibiting NK cell cytotoxicity by activating specific acid sphingomyelinase/SMPD1, elevating ceramide levels. Activation stimulates AKT1/PKB and RPS6KA1/RSK1 kinases, enhancing anti-CD3-induced T-cell proliferation. As a lectin, CD161 binds to Gal-alpha(1,3)Gal and N-acetyllactosamine epitopes, acting as a ligand for CLEC2D/LLT1. Existing as a homodimer, CD161 interacts with acid sphingomyelinase/SMPD1, contributing to its multifaceted immune regulatory functions. CD161 Protein, Cynomolgus (Biotinylated, HEK293, His-Avi) is the recombinant cynomolgus-derived CD161 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-Avi, C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CD161, also known as KLRB1, is an activating receptor primarily expressed on natural killer (NK) cells and some T lymphocytes, playing a critical role in immune regulation and response. Its engagement with ligands modulates immune cell activation and cytokine production, highlighting its importance in immune surveillance and defense against various pathogens and tumors. Research into the CD161/KLRB1 recombinant protein has gained momentum as scientists aim to elucidate its precise biological functions and therapeutic potential. The recombinant form allows for the study of protein structure, binding interactions, and signal transduction pathways in a controlled environment, facilitating advancements in NK cell biology and immunotherapy. Furthermore, understanding the role of CD161 in immune evasion mechanisms in cancers can lead to novel treatment strategies that enhance anti-tumor immunity. Investigating the efficacy of CD161-targeted therapies, such as bispecific antibodies or chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) NK cells, represents a promising frontier in cancer immunotherapy. Overall, the characterization of CD161/KLRB1 recombinant proteins is pivotal for developing innovative approaches to harness and enhance immune responses in both infectious diseases and malignancies.
