  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

RBP5, or Retinol-Binding Protein 5, plays a critical role in the metabolism of retinoids, which are vital for various biological processes, including vision, cellular differentiation, and embryonic development. As a member of the family of retinoid-binding proteins, RBP5 facilitates the transport of retinoids within cells and across biological membranes. Recent studies have highlighted its significance in regulating the availability of retinoids for signaling pathways, particularly in the retina, where it helps maintain visual function. Additionally, RBP5 has been implicated in various diseases, including retinal degeneration and certain cancers, where dysregulation of retinoid metabolism can occur. Researchers are increasingly interested in characterizing recombinant RBP5 to explore its structure-function relationships and investigate its potential therapeutic applications. The generation of recombinant RBP5 allows for detailed biochemical and biophysical studies, paving the way for potential interventions or treatments for retinoid-related disorders. Understanding the properties and interactions of RBP5 is not only essential for elucidating its biological roles but also for the development of innovative strategies targeting retinoid signaling pathways in disease contexts.
