简介
PITPNA Protein catalyzes phosphatidylinositol (PI) and phosphatidylcholine (PC) transfer between membranes, displaying a preference for shorter saturated or monosaturated acyl chains at sn-1 and sn-2 positions. For PC, the preference order is C16:1 > C16:0 > C18:1 > C18:0 > C20:4, and for PI, it is C16:1 > C16:0 > C18:1 > C18:0 > C20:4 > C20:3. PITPNA Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived PITPNA protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PITPNA (Phosphatidylinositol Transfer Protein Alpha) is a crucial protein involved in cellular lipid signaling and membrane dynamics. Its primary function is to transport phosphatidylinositol and phosphatidylcholine between membranes, which is essential for various cellular processes, including vesicle trafficking, signal transduction, and cell growth. Recent studies have highlighted its importance in cancer biology, where aberrant lipid signaling is often a hallmark of tumor progression. Enhanced understanding of PITPNA's role in these pathways could provide insights into novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. Moreover, PITPNA has been implicated in neurobiology, suggesting it may play a role in neurodegenerative diseases due to its involvement in synaptic function and membrane integrity. Recent advances in recombinant protein technology have facilitated the production of PITPNA, allowing researchers to investigate its structure-function relationships, interactions with other proteins, and potential regulatory mechanisms. The generation of PITPNA in a recombinant form offers the opportunity to develop biophysical assays and high-throughput screenings to identify small molecule modulators that can influence its activity, thus paving the way for innovative therapeutic approaches. This growing body of research underscores the significance of PITPNA in health and disease, making it a compelling subject for ongoing investigation in cell biology and pharmacology.
