简介
Galectin-9/LGALS9 Protein acts as an eosinophil chemoattractant, recruiting and migrating eosinophils, key immune cells in inflammatory responses. It also serves as an angiogenesis inhibitor, regulating blood vessel formation and impacting vascular processes. Functioning as a regulatory modulator, Galectin-9/LGALS9 suppresses interferon-gamma (IFNG) production by natural killer cells, exerting control over immune signaling pathways. Galectin-9/LGALS9 Protein, Human (HEK293, hFc) is the recombinant human-derived Galectin-9/LGALS9 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Galectin-9, encoded by the LGALS9 gene, is a member of the galectin family, which are soluble beta-galactoside-binding lectins. It plays a pivotal role in various biological processes, including cell adhesion, immune regulation, and apoptosis. The interest in Galectin-9 has surged due to its involvement in diverse pathological conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, cancer, and infectious diseases. Research has demonstrated that Galectin-9 can modulate immune responses by influencing T cell activity and regulating the progression of inflammation. Its unique ability to interact with multiple glycoconjugates and its dual role as both a pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory mediator underscore the complexity of its function in vivo. The development of recombinant Galectin-9 proteins has facilitated advanced studies, enabling researchers to dissect its molecular mechanisms and explore its therapeutic potential. By producing recombinant LGALS9, scientists aim to investigate its role in modulating immune responses and its potential applications in cancer immunotherapy and other diseases. Understanding the nuances of Galectin-9's functions through recombinant protein studies can pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies, ultimately contributing to better disease management and treatment outcomes.
