Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    TNF-alpha/TNFSF2

  • 简介

Tumour Necrosis Factor alpha (TNF alpha) is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine[1]. TNF alpha binds to its receptors, mainly TNFR1 and TNFR2, and then transmits molecular signals for biological functions such as inflammation and cell death[2]. TNF alpha stimulates NF-κB pathway via TNFR2 promotes cancer growth, invasion, and metastasis. Anti-TNF-α MAb significantly suppresses the tumor development in colitis-associated cancer (CAC) mouse[3]. TNF alpha as a proneurogenic factor activates the SAPK/JNK Pathway and can facilitate neuronal replacement and brain repair in response to brain injury[4]. TNF-alpha/TNFSF2 Protein, Bovine is produced in E. coli.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha), also known as TNFSF2, is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response and immune regulation. It is primarily produced by activated macrophages and T cells and is involved in a variety of physiological and pathological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, and the regulation of immune responses. Dysregulation of TNF-alpha has been implicated in numerous diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammatory conditions, and cancer. Due to its significant role in inflammation and immune modulation, TNF-alpha has emerged as a compelling target for therapeutic interventions. Recombinant forms of TNF-alpha have been studied for their potential applications in both research and clinical settings, facilitating a better understanding of its mechanisms of action, signaling pathways, and interactions with other cytokines. Furthermore, TNF-alpha is used as a biological marker and therapeutic target for various conditions, leading to the development of anti-TNF therapies that have shown efficacy in treating inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. Ongoing research into TNF-alpha/TNFSF2 recombinant proteins aims to exploit their biological activities, improve drug delivery systems, and create novel therapeutic approaches by modifying their structure or enhancing their activity. Overall, understanding TNF-alpha's diverse roles in immune responses and its potential as a therapeutic target continues to be a vibrant area of biomedical research.
