  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

TFRC (Transferrin Receptor) is a pivotal membrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in iron homeostasis by mediating the cellular uptake of transferrin-bound iron. Given the importance of iron in numerous biological processes, including oxygen transport and DNA synthesis, dysregulation of TFRC has been implicated in various diseases such as anemia, cancer, and neurodegenerative disorders. Recent advancements in recombinant protein technology have enabled the expression and characterization of TFRC, allowing researchers to investigate its structure-function relationships and interaction with ligands. This has significant implications for therapeutic strategies, as targeting the TFRC could enhance drug delivery systems, particularly in cancer treatment where tumor cells often exhibit upregulated TFRC expression. Additionally, understanding the receptor’s role in iron metabolism contributes to the development of novel treatments for conditions related to iron overload or deficiency. Consequently, the study of TFRC recombinant proteins not only deepens our understanding of its biological functions but also paves the way for innovative approaches in medical science. This research area continues to attract attention due to its potential to provide insights into fundamental cellular processes and its applicability in addressing critical health issues related to iron utilization in the body.
