Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SLC6A4, also known as the serotonin transporter (5-HTT), plays a crucial role in regulating serotonin levels in the central nervous system by reabsorbing this neurotransmitter from the synaptic cleft back into presynaptic neurons. Variations in the SLC6A4 gene, particularly the serotonin transporter-linked polymorphic region (5-HTTLPR), have been associated with various psychiatric disorders, including depression and anxiety, making it a significant target for research. The recombinant protein of SLC6A4 serves as a valuable tool for studying the structure-function relationships of the serotonin transporter, facilitating insights into its mechanism of action and physiological implications. Additionally, the development of SLC6A4 recombinant protein has implications for drug discovery, as it allows for the screening of new antidepressant compounds that can modulate serotonin uptake. The expression and purification of SLC6A4 in heterologous systems have enabled researchers to characterize the protein's pharmacological properties and assess how different genetic variants influence its functionality. This research further aids in understanding the nuances of serotonin signaling pathways and their impact on mood regulation and potential therapeutic interventions for mood disorders. Overall, the investigation of SLC6A4 recombinant protein is critical for elucidating the biological underpinnings of serotonin-related pathologies and advancing the development of targeted treatments.
