简介
gp130/IL6ST is an important signal transduction molecule that can form high-affinity receptor complexes for cytokines such as IL6, LIF, and OSM. Upon IL6 binding, gp130/IL6ST homodimerizes and activates the JAK-MAPK and JAK-STAT3 pathways, leading to the phosphorylation of IL6ST tyrosine residues and subsequent activation of STAT3. gp130/IL6ST Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived gp130/IL6ST protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.
- Application
-
Biological Activity
Measured by its binding ability in a functional ELISA. Immobilized Human gp130 at 5 μg/mL (100 μL/well) can bind Biotinylated Human IL-6 R alpha in the presence of Human IL-6. The ED50 for this effect is 13.46 ng/mL.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
gp130, also known as IL6ST (Interleukin-6 signal transducer), is a crucial co-receptor for various cytokines, including interleukin-6 (IL-6), and plays a significant role in the immune response, inflammation, and hematopoiesis. The gp130 signaling pathway is pivotal in mediating cellular responses to IL-6 family cytokines, and dysregulation of this pathway has been implicated in a range of diseases, including autoimmune disorders, cancers, and chronic inflammatory conditions. The study of recombinant gp130/IL6ST proteins is essential for elucidating the mechanisms underlying these pathologies and for the development of potential therapeutic strategies. By generating recombinant forms of gp130, researchers can investigate its structural and functional properties, assess its interactions with other signaling molecules, and evaluate the impact of specific mutations or modifications on its activity. Moreover, gp130's role in promoting cell proliferation and survival makes it an attractive target for drug development. Understanding gp130’s signaling dynamics and its influence on cellular pathways could pave the way for innovations in treating diseases characterized by abnormal cytokine signaling. Overall, the exploration of gp130/IL6ST recombinant proteins is vital for advancing knowledge in immunology and developing targeted therapies to combat cytokine-related diseases.
