Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Slc1a2, also known as the excitatory amino acid transporter 1 (EAAT1), plays a crucial role in maintaining glutamate homeostasis in the central nervous system. Glutamate, a major excitatory neurotransmitter, is essential for normal brain function, but excessive accumulation can lead to excitotoxicity, which is associated with various neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. Research on Slc1a2 recombinant protein has gained attention due to its critical function in mediating glutamate uptake and protecting neurons from excitotoxic damage. Understanding the structure and function of this transporter can provide insights into its mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Furthermore, studying Slc1a2 in a recombinant system allows for detailed investigation of its transport kinetics, substrate specificity, and interactions with pharmacological agents. These studies are vital for developing drugs that can modulate Slc1a2 activity, potentially offering new strategies for treating disorders linked to glutamate dysregulation. The recombinant expression of Slc1a2 also provides a valuable tool for structural biology studies, enabling scientists to determine the transporter’s three-dimensional structure and understand its transport mechanism at a molecular level. Overall, the research surrounding Slc1a2 recombinant protein is pivotal for unveiling the complexities of glutamate transport and its implications for neuroprotection and therapeutic interventions.
