The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH), also known as somatotropin, has emerged as a significant therapeutic agent in the field of endocrinology and biotechnology. Initially derived from pituitary glands, its clinical use was limited due to the risks of contamination and variability in hormone activity. In the 1980s, advancements in recombinant DNA technology enabled the production of rhGH in bacteria and yeast, providing a safer and more consistent source. The hormone plays a crucial role in growth and metabolism, promoting growth in children with growth hormone deficiencies and aiding in tissue repair and metabolism in adults. Its applications have expanded beyond traditional uses to include treatments for conditions such as Turner syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, and cachexia in chronic illnesses. Furthermore, rhGH has gained attention in sports medicine for its potential to enhance athletic performance, leading to discussions about its ethical implications and regulation in sports. Ongoing research aims to better understand its mechanisms, optimize therapies, and explore novel applications, such as in regenerative medicine and age-related disorders. As a result, rhGH represents a pivotal advancement in hormone replacement therapies, improving the quality of life for many patients while continuously evolving with technological advancements in biotechnology.
