  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Prolactin, a hormone primarily produced by the pituitary gland, plays a crucial role in lactation, reproductive health, and immune regulation. Its diverse physiological functions have made it a target of interest in various fields, including endocrinology, reproductive biology, and oncology. The recombinant form of prolactin (rProlactin) has been developed to study its biological activities and therapeutic potentials. Early research focused on understanding its structure-function relationship and delineating its signaling pathways, which are critical for lactation and other reproductive processes. Advances in biotechnology have facilitated the production of rProlactin using recombinant DNA technology, enabling the generation of pure and biologically active hormone for experimental use. Studies have indicated that rProlactin can influence cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, highlighting its potential implications in cancer studies, particularly breast cancer, where prolactin signaling may affect tumor progression. Additionally, understanding the interactions of rProlactin with its receptors can provide insights into pathophysiological conditions associated with prolactin dysregulation, such as hyperprolactinemia and infertility. Furthermore, rProlactin's therapeutic applications are being explored, including its roles in enhancing immune responses and addressing conditions linked to prolactin deficiency. Ongoing research aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying prolactin's actions, optimize its recombinant production, and evaluate its pharmacological properties, presenting a comprehensive approach to harnessing the potential of prolactin in both basic research and clinical medicine.
