Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (HSD11B1) plays a pivotal role in the metabolism of glucocorticoids, converting inactive cortisone to its active form, cortisol. This enzymatic activity is crucial in various physiological processes, including the regulation of metabolism, immune response, and stress responses. Dysregulation of HSD11B1 has been associated with several metabolic disorders, such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension. Consequently, understanding the functional properties of HSD11B1 is essential for exploring its potential as a therapeutic target. Researchers have developed recombinant forms of the HSD11B1 protein to investigate its structure, enzymatic activity, and interaction with various substrates and inhibitors. These studies provide valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying glucocorticoid action and contribute to the development of novel interventions aimed at modulating HSD11B1 activity in metabolic diseases. By creating and characterizing this recombinant protein, scientists aim to pave the way for innovative treatments that could alleviate the health burden associated with glucocorticoid-related disorders.
